Abbott to finish up at Norwood

MIDFIELDER Will Abbott has today informed the Norwood Football Club that he will retire immediately from SANFL football.

The 28-year-old will finish up at the Redlegs after 33 games and kicking 15 goals since hit debut against Adelaide in Round Five 2018.

Known for his ferocious attack on the football and strong tackling ability, Abbott was awarded the McCallum Trophy (Rising Star) in his first season at the Parade.

After three seasons at Norwood Abbott thanked everybody from staff, coaches, fitness staff and teammates.

“I’d like to thank everyone for making my time at Norwood so enjoyable,” said Abbott.

“It was a fantastic ride and look forward to watching the team go at it again next season.”

Abbott looks set to now reunite with old club St Ignatius.
