Retired Norwood captain Alison Ferrall has passed on the number 19 guernsey she wore in 57 SANFLW matches to Jazmine Egan.
Ferrall said it was special to pass on the guernsey to the 18-year-old Egan, which was announced at the Norwood SANFLW Season Launch on Wednesday night.
“It was a no brainer to pass my guernsey onto Jaz Egan,” A. Ferrall said.
“I have coached her since she was playing U16s and watched her grow through her career thus far.
“She is such a smart player and she has such a bright future and so many great leadership qualities, but best of all she is just such a good quality person.”
Egan has played five SANFLW matches, and won Norwood’s 2023 Development League Best and Fairest.
“I was so proud of her when she won the B&F last year,” A. Ferrall said.
“She has grown so much in her footy, she runs in the right places and has learnt the game really well.
“She pushed for SANFLW league all season last year and was so consistent in Dev League last year.”
