After eight seasons as a player, captain, mentor and coach, Alison Ferrall’s time at Norwood has drawn to a close.
In a message to players earlier this week, the club’s Interim SANFLW Coach Ferrall announced that she wouldn’t be continuing with the Norwood Football Club’s Women’s Program moving forward.
“This has been such a special chapter in my life, and I’m so grateful for the incredible support over the years,” she said.
“I’ve truly appreciated the friendships, the memories and the shared passion for the game.
“I’m excited to take on new opportunities and challenges across my career, life and family, and I’m looking forward to what lies ahead.”
Ferrall played 57 SANFLW matches for Norwood from 2018 to 2023, captaining the club, before stepping into the role of the Redlegs SANFLW Development League Coach in 2024 and 2025.
For the final six matches of Norwood’s 2025 season, Ferrall stepped up as Interim SANFLW League Coach when Senior Coach and husband Brad Ferrall stepped down.
The club thanks Alison for her incredible service to the club, specifically her commitment to the female football program across seniors and juniors for the best part of a decade.
Norwood is in the process of hiring a new SANFLW Senior Coach to lead the club forward into 2026 and beyond.
The League will look different in 2026, with a SANFL U18 Girls competition replacing the existing SANFLW Development League competition.
