It was a day to forget for Norwood’s U18s and U16s, with both sides copping big losses to Woodville-West Torrens on Saturday.
The Redlegs U18s side travelled to Woodville Oval on a day when Adelaide Crows-SANFL listed player Tyler Welsh was cleared to play for his home side of the Eagles, and he made the most of his return – booting eight goals in an 85-point victory.
Welsh booted five goals in the last quarter, including the last four of the game to turn a 55-point three quarter time lead into an 85-point final margin, 16.12-108 to 3.5-23.
In a tough day for Norwood, Harry Brock was a standout with 24 disposals, while Riley Kirchhofer had 22 touches.
Brock was named best on ground, while last year’s U16 best and fairest Darcy Speyer was second best with 18 touches.

In his first outing for Norwood’s U16 side, Phoenix Hemming had an outstanding debut match in the red and blue – gathering 37 disposals, seven clearances, and four tackles.
Hemming was best on ground in a very tough day for the Redlegs, as the Eagles ran out 89-point winners.
Norwood was right in the game up until half time, trailing by just eight points at half time, 3.9-27 to 5.5-35.
From there the Eagles piled on 13 goals to one in a second half demolition.
