Charli Hazelhurst named in U16 All-Australian Team

Norwood’s Charli Hazelhurst has been named in the U16 Girls All-Australian Team following a strong 2023 AFL National Development Championships.

Hazelhurst was named on the Interchange, and was one of five SA players recognised as All-Australians, including Eloise Mackereth, Chloe Tonkin, Sophie Eaton and Stephanie Tredwell.

South Australia won Pool A in the Championships after defeating Vic Metro by 32 points and Western Australia by 29, while Brisbane Lions Academy won Pool B, thumping GWS Academy by 110 and Northern Territory by 85.

Despite qualifying to play U16 at State level, Hazelhurst made her SANFLW debut earlier this season with Norwood – playing the Round 6 match against West Adelaide, and returning to the League side in Saturday’s Round 10 game against the Eagles.

She was also a big part of Norwood’s SANFLW Development League team in 2023 which made the Grand Final last month.
