COVID Update – Alcohol Consumption at Coopers Stadium

The Norwood Football Club would like to advise its fans and members of the new rules set in place for Sunday’s Round Seven clash with South Adelaide.

If spectators coming to the game wish to consume ANY alcohol you must always be seated.

On Monday, the South Australian Government made the decision to restrict the consumption of alcohol in licensed premises to seated only.

As part of this decision, the Norwood Football Club will allow spectators to bring their own fold-out chairs to sit around the ground.

Norwood Chief Executive Officer James Fantasia said that Norwood will certainly comply with the requirements by SA Health and the SA Government.

“We are grateful to be able to host football at Coopers Stadium and believe it is imperative as a football club we ensure every safety and compliance measure is in place,” said Fantasia.

“Fans will be permitted to bring their own fold-up chairs to ensure that the consumption of alcohol is done safely and adheres to the guidelines set by SA Health.

“Spectators are reminded of the importance of social distancing and good hygiene when attending games and the newest restrictions include being seated while consuming alcohol.”

2020 Norwood Members will be guaranteed access to the game by simply showing their membership card at any of the gates at Coopers Stadium, while any South Adelaide Home and Away Memberships will also be granted access to the ground.

Please note, the only Grandstand which will be made available for the public is the Southern Stand, which will be limited to the first 200 people in which social distancing always applies. If you are a family member you may sit next to each other, however, if you are not, you MUST sit 1.5 metres apart.

Fans who are non-members will also be able to purchase a ticket on the day by following the process which has been put in place by SA-Health and the SANFL.

To purchase a ticket on the day you MUST provide a:

  • Full Name
  • Current Email Address

Free entry still applies for kids who are non-members, however, must be with an adult when entering the ground.
