Easter Thursday Teams

Norwood host Sturt in a blockbuster Easter Thursday clash at Coopers Stadium.

The Redlegs have battled with injury in the opening two rounds of the SANFL season, but welcome back more troops for tomorrow night’s match as Alastair Lord (wrist), Izaak Twelftree (ankle), Isaac Saywell (hamstring) and Jacob Newton return to the League side.

The highly talented Newton will make his League debut wearing the number 29 guernsey made famous by Norwood Hall of Famer Michael Taylor.

Sturt have started the season with back to back wins over South Adelaide and Port Adelaide, claiming a 16.11-107 to 12.6-78 win over the Magpies in Round 2.

Norwood was disappointing in Round 1 against North Adelaide, but played some great football in Round 2 before eventually going down to the Eagles by six points.

Marco D’Aannunzio will play a second straight game as Norwood’s number one ruck as Luke Surman continues to recover from his ankle injury. The Redlegs are hoping to welcome back Mitch Nicholas (suspension), Surman, Alec Wright (ankle), Tom Donnelly (hip)  and Ben Simpson (foot) over the next few weeks.

Both sides are coming off a Gather Round Bye.
