The Norwood Football Club is excited to announce that four more recruits will be added to its playing list in 2019.
Former Premiership player Josh Donohue will return to the club for the 2019 SANFL Season.
After finishing up at the end of 2016, Donohue joined Norwood Payneham Union and played two seasons for the Falcons.
Donohue’s return is a timely one after the retirement of triple premiership player and 100 gamer Simon Phillips.
The 28-year old will add experience to Norwood’s list and look to build on his 138 senior games next year.
The Redlegs have also signed former Rooster Corey Grove for the 2019 Statewide Super SANFL Season.
Grove played 33 League games for North Adelaide from 2015 to 2017. The 29 year old plays as a key defender or forward and will add depth to Norwood’s big man stocks in 2019.
After spending three seasons playing league football at the Roosters, Grove played local football in 2018 at the Port Football Club in the Spencer Gulf League.
Mitchell Coles a former Norwood Junior will also return to the club in 2019.
The talented junior took a break from the game in 2017 and played local football with Barmera Monash in the Riverland.
Coles is a running defender who will add some run and carry to the side next year.
The last recruit for 2019 is former West Adelaide junior Charlie Hay.
Hay is a midfielder/ forward who played for Prince Alfred College in 2018. Hay will add more depth to Norwood’s list with his versatility between midfield and attack.
These players along with the two Barry boys, Crauford, Szust and Miller will do doubt have a huge impact in 2019.
The Norwood Football Club advises that the remainder of its list have signed on for 2019. The club at the moment still have seven players trialling in conjunction with 13 talented under 18 players coming into our senior ranks during the pre-season period.
