AFTER notching up his second Magarey Medal in two years and first Jack Oatey in 2019, Mitch Grigg is going full steam ahead towards round one.
The star Norwood midfielder said to the club on Tuesday afternoon that despite starting preseason a little bit later, he aims to continue his fantastic form which has seen him recognised as the Premier midfielder in the SANFL.
“I had a bit of a delayed start to the preseason, with obviously stuff to do with my Dad,” Grigg said.
“My body also needed a bit more rest; it’s a little bit more seasoned now. I don’t need a massive pre-season, my body can get back to that high level pretty quickly now.
“Hopefully though I can clock up some minutes in the next few weeks, and be ready to go come round one.
With season 2019, comes new rules and clubs who have tinkered with their game plans, but Grigg is not worried.
“Every year there are a couple of new rules changes which are implemented.” Grigg said.
“I think the boys as a whole will adapt quite quickly to them and try and make that something we could use against another team if we do it better than them.
“We know each team will be hungry to play us, however we need to be ready and full of confidence every time we step out on the field.”
Norwood faces Adelaide in their first trial match on Friday March 8 at Coopers Stadium beginning at 7:20pm.
