Norwood midfielder Jade Halfpenny was named in the SANFLW Team of the Year.
Norwood’s Jade Halfpenny and Kiana Lee have been named in the 2025 SANFLW The Advertiser Team of the Year at Monday night’s SANFLW Awards Ceremony.
Last year’s Norwood Best and Fairest Halfpenny was named on the half forward flank, while Redlegs leading goal kicker Kiana Lee was listed on the interchange.
The former Port Adelaide and Carlton midfielder, Halfpenny, amazingly improved on her 2024 season in 2025, averaging 19 disposals, six tackles and four clearances per game.
Lee kicked 19 goals in 2025, finishing fourth on the SANFLW League tally.
Later in the evening West Adelaide’s Zoe Venning was announced as the SANFLW Best and Fairest, ahead of South Adelaide’s Soriah Moon and Glenelg’s Jessica Bates.
Halfpenny finished fifth in the SANFLW’s Kia Coaches Award, which was taken out by Eagle Christina Leuzzi.
All eight teams are represented in the Team of the Year side, with the Eagles having the most representatives with six and South Adelaide five faces in the side.
Eagles’ coach Narelle Smith has been named coach of the team after her phenomenal coaching effort in which she took her charges from seventh to first with a win-loss record of 12-2 at the end of the minor round.
West Adelaide has three players named in the team, with North Adelaide, Sturt and Norwood with two and Glenelg and Central District both with one.
Christina Leuzzi, picked up by the Adelaide Crows AFLW side this year, has been rewarded for her season and has been named as captain and will start in the centre, with retiring Glenelg superstar Jess Bates named as her vice-captain.
