Harry Boyd is BACK at The Parade

The Norwood Football Club is thrilled to announce that Magarey Medallist and Premiership player, Harry Boyd will be returning to The Parade next season.

Boyd played 79 SANFL matches for Norwood from 2021 to 2024, before being recruited to St Kilda’s AFL list, playing one AFL game for the Saints.

The 27-year-old 198cm ruck was outstanding for Norwood across his four seasons, a stint that included the 2022 SANFL Premiership and Jack Oatey Medal, 2024 Magarey Medal, 2024 R.O Shearman Medal (League Coaches Award), two Norwood Best and Fairest Awards, State Games and Team of the Year accolades.

“I am really excited to be back at Norwood,” Boyd said.

“Norwood means a lot to me, and to be able to achieve what I have already at the club, especially the Premiership in 2022, it does mean a lot, but it’s the people within the club that mean the most. Everyone from the players and coaches to the admin staff. You form those bonds, which I’ve really missed over the past 12 months.

“Once the 2025 season was over, I had a think about what was next, but being at Adelaide Oval watching the SANFL Prelim, it really sparked my interest in returning to Norwood. I have the drive, and I realised that I was keen to get back to the SANFL and play for Norwood again.

Boyd said he enjoyed his season with St Kilda, signing on during the AFL’s Supplemental Selection Period (SSP) in January 2025.

“It was a great experience, it does have its challenges, but to live out this lifestyle and form some great connections within the AFL industry, it will stand me in good stead moving forward,” he said.

“I definitely kept an eye on the Norwood scores and watched games online. It was hard to get back to SA with our schedule, but to get back for the Prelim – as devastating as it was for everyone involved – it was good to feel that energy of the Norwood Football Club again.”

Norwood coach Jade Sheedy welcomed Boyd back to the Redlegs.

“As a club we are very excited with the return of Harry,” Sheedy said.

“We all know the high level that Harry consistently plays at, but our club is also looking forward to welcoming back a great team mate that sets high standards and has a great love for the club.”

Boyd has signed a two-year deal at Norwood for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, and comes as the second big-name recruit heading to The Parade, after Kade Dittmar (from Central District) was unveiled as a Norwood player last month.
