After a disappointing loss at the hands of Centrals last Saturday afternoon, the senior match committee may be inclined to make some changes ahead of Norwood’s Round 12 clash with Sturt this Friday night.
Earlier in the week, Norwood confirmed that Skipper Matthew Panos sustained an ACL & MCL injury in the loss to Centrals which has ruled him out for the next 12 months.
The Redlegs will also be without running defender Jacob Collins after sustaining a hamstring injury early in the game.
Forward/Ruck Luke Surman is pushing for selection after three solid outings in the Reserves. Surman has now regained his fitness, confidence & form and could be a damaging forward target on Friday evening against the blues.
Consistent performing ball magnet Jed Spence won plenty of footy against the dogs seconds and will no doubt put his hand up as a readymade replacement for Panos.
Running defender Brodie Carroll looms as a like for like replacement for Jacob Collins and will come under consideration to add some pace and run of halfback.
Having missed selection last week, Cody Szust would be in the mix to return as is clever defender Jack Heard who is pressing eagerly for a league debut.
U18s running midfielder Jack Saunders has impressed since joining the Reserves team a few weeks ago whilst Sam Barnett could also be one to watch adding some power, height and flexibility to our forward half after his 4 goal performance last weekend.
Norwood will on Thursday evening name its side to tackle the Blues, with the first bounce at Coopers Stadium at 7:40pm on Friday.
