NORWOOD will face Sturt in the Elimination Final on Saturday afternoon at Adelaide Oval to kick start the 2019 SANFL Statewide Finals Series.
The Redlegs defeated West Adelaide in Round 18 by 18 points and will again need to be up for the challenge, as they go up against the Double Blues who just defeated League leaders Glenelg.
Some good news for the Redlegs is that there are no fresh injury concerns meaning the Legs are likely to go into the Elimination Final at close to full strength.
The Reserves clinched the 2019 Minor Premiership last Friday night with a comfortable 23-point against the Bloods.
After another impressive performance by the Reserves, Cotton could look at calling a few players into the League squad.
Ruckman/forward Luke Surman performed well in his first game back for Norwood, which included 26 disposals, 32 hit-outs, eight marks and 11 clearances on Friday night.
Cody Szust was again strong collecting 24 disposals, four marks and a goal in the 23-point win.
Another promising youngster Nick Pedro is starting to build some nice form towards the finals collecting 23 disposals, seven tackles and four marks.
Veteran forward Brady Dawe is also a good chance to return for this Saturday’s Elimination Final.
Dawe missed last Friday’s clash with West Adelaide due to a quad injury, however, has recovered well and is a chance to face Sturt providing he gets through training this Wednesday.
Norwood will name its final side on Friday evening, ahead of its Elimination Final with Sturt on Saturday afternoon.
