Injury Report – Spence to undergo surgery

NORWOOD will be without midfielder Jed Spence for the remainder of the 2021 SANFL Season after suffering a knee injury during a tackle in Round 10 against South Adelaide.

The midfielder/forward will undergo surgery this week with the aim of being well prepared for the beginning of pre-season in November.

The Redlegs will also be without improved defender Jacob Collins after he suffered a concussion in Round 10 against the Panthers. Forward Finn Heard will join Collins on the sidelines after he also suffered a concussion against South, which will see the pair sit out under the 12-day concussion period.

Defender Nick Pedro who suffered a concussion against the Eagles in Round 8 is also being closely monitored and is listed as TBC.

Ruckman Michael Knoll is expected to return in Round 15 as he slowly recovers from a knee injury sustained against the Eagles. Knoll will gradually increase his training loads over the next few weeks.

Brad Ficken will re-join main training this week and will build over the next couple of weeks as he also looks to return in Round 14.

Fellow Defender Daniel Fairbrother has started running again and will join training in the coming weeks. The reliable defender is hopeful of a return in Round 15.

Matthew Panos (knee), Ned Carey (knee) and Henry Crauford (back) continue to build their training loads as they look to return from their respective injuries.

The Redlegs face Central District on Saturday the 26th of June in ‘Count Me in Round’ beginning at 2:10pm.
