Injury Update – Gun forward to miss, defender sustains ACL

NORWOOD will be without clever forward Cam Taheny for Saturday’s game following a head knock in the fourth quarter against Sturt at Wigan Oval.

The 20-year-old has entered concussion protocols and will be unavailable for at least one week.

The Redlegs are a chance however to regain pressure forward Baynen Lowe following his competition of the H+S Protocols which has sidelined him for the past two weeks.

Lowe was a late withdrawal from the squad that was travelling to Port Lincoln, however, remains a chance to return to the League side this weekend.

Wingman Isaac Saywell is listed as test following a leg injury sustained in the Reserves win against West Adelaide a fortnight ago. Saywell will train fully this week and is expected to return.

Forward Liam Robinson is also a chance to return following his completion of the H+S Protocols. The 21-year-old has been in good form for the Reserves booting 11 goals in his first four games. He is a chance to return this week providing he gets through this week’s block of training.

Duo, Ed O’Connor and Lachlan Pascoe are progressing well from their respective injuries and will begin to ramp up their training loads in a bid to return.

Unfortunately for Norwood scans have confirmed off-season recruit, Max Hodges has injured his anterior cruciate ligament following Norwood’s Round three Reserves clash with Glenelg.

Football Services Manager Rob Harding said scans confirmed the club’s concerns around the injury.

“It’s really disappointing for Max, unfortunately, he went down with a knee injury in the third quarter of our game against Glenelg in the Reserves a couple of weeks ago,” said Harding.

“The scans have revealed that he has torn an ACL.

“Max has had surgery and is progressing well in his recovery already.

“It’s disappointing for Max who has been a great addition to our club since we brought him in at the start of pre-season.

“We look forward to supporting him throughout his recovery and getting him back on the field at some point in 2023.”
