NORWOOD has fallen heavily at the hands of North Adelaide by the sum of 52-points at Prospect Oval on Saturday afternoon.
The Redlegs were held goalless in the first term as North made the most of their opportunities kicking 5.5 with the use of a strong breeze.
Norwood was second to the ball on most occasions with the inside 50 differentials +25 in Norths favour giving their forwards a greater chance of scoring.
Lewis Hender was busy for North in the first term booting three goals, while Mitch Harvey and Kym Lebois also kicked one apiece.
Norwood’s first major came inside the first five minutes of the second term as a wayward kick by Cameron Craig allowed Will Abbott to kick a difficult set shot from a tight angle to breathe some life into the contest.
North found a reply only minutes later when Andrew Moore booted his first of the contest before Lebois had his second midway through the second term. Five more goals were kicked between the two sides, as Sam Baulderstone, Richard Douglas and Codey Ellison all put through their first majors of the game to cut the margin to 36 points at the main break.
Two goals in succession to Mitch Grigg and Dom Barry cut the margin to 33 points midway in the third term but North powered away to boot the next four in a row to lead by 56 at the final change.
Norwood managed to outscore their opposition, North Adelaide, in the final term, however, the damage was done as the Roosters ran away with a percentage booting 52-point win.
Grigg had the most disposals for Norwood with 28 to go with eight clearances and six tackles while Richard Douglas had 26 possessions, seven tackles and a goal.
Norwood vice-captain Sam Baulderstone had 21 disposals, seven clearances, a goal and 36 hit outs but the Redlegs had very few meaningful contributions on a forgettable afternoon
The Redlegs will now face League leaders Woodville West Torrens on Friday night in Round 10 of the SANFL Statewide Super League.
