THE NORWOOD Football Club celebrated the 2019 season at the National Wine Centre on Thursday night, as skilful defender Brad McKenzie was awarded his first-ever Michael Taylor Medal.
McKenzie was crowned the Redlegs’ best player after a sensational year, as the defender was recognised for his consistent performances.
The 26-year old lead the club for marks (148) as well as kicks (329).
McKenzie capped off a great year, going at 97% efficiency with ball in hand.
Team of the Year Ruckman Sam Baulderstone featured prominently in the count finishing second, while hard defender Alex Georgiou and wingman Lewis Johnston finished equal third.
The ever-reliable Cameron Shenton finished fourth, while Port Adelaide recruit starred in his first year at the Parade finishing fifth overall.
Although Norwood was knocked out in the First Semi-Final there were plenty of positives to take away from the year.
