Naish names Norwood his new home

By Joseph Marciano

NORWOOD has completed the signing of former Richmond Tiger, Patrick Naish for the 2022 SANFL Season.

Naish, 22, played nine games for the Tigers across four seasons after being selected as a father/son selection with the 34th pick in the 2017 AFL National Draft.

Naish featured six times at senior level in 2021, including twice as the medical substitute. He was a VFL premiership player in 2019.

At 22 years of age, Naish was delisted last season and finds himself at his new home on The Parade in 2022.

A versatile product, Naish can play a variety of roles including half-back or through the midfield.

Football Services Manager, Rob Harding said the signing of Naish was a major coup as the club wraps up its recruiting for 2022.

“This is a fantastic signing for our football club”, said Harding.

“Patty has been training with us over the last couple of weeks and we’re delighted that he has signed on the dotted line for season 2022.

“We know he has had a lot of interest from AFL level, and we will support him in his endeavours to get back to the AFL.

“Patty is a high-quality talent and more importantly a quality character.

“We welcome Patty and his family to The Parade in 2022.”

Naish stated his desire to join Norwood was based on what the club stands for and looking forward to putting his best foot forward in playing some consistent football next season.

“It’s great to be at Norwood in 2022,” said Naish.

“Walking around the place and learning the history of the club and what it stands for is really exciting and I am itching to get started.

“The last couple of years has been hindered with the COVID situation, however, the prospect of playing some consistent football and playing at this level with such a great club really excites me.”
