NORWOOD has moved into top spot on the SANFLW Statewide ladder after a convincing 28-point win against League newbies Woodville West Torrens.
The Lady Legs started the match well on top booting 4.1 for the quarter to the Eagles solitary point.
Gun midfielder Monique Hollick gave the Redlegs the perfect start, kicking her first major within the opening five minutes.
The big oval suited the Lady Legs, as their ability to spread from contest and generate repeat inside 50 entries troubled the Eagles throughout the first term.
It was then League debutant Rosette Zerella who booted her first League goal to give Norwood a 13-point lead.
The Lady Legs dominated the possession throughout the quarter, with ruckwomen Leah Cutting giving her midfielders first use of the ball.
The Lady Legs were dominating possession (242 – 154) and time in their forward half (26 inside 50s to 15), but struggled to put on any serious scoreboard pressure.
Former Basketball star Jo Hill, however was able to find room to kick her first of the contest seven minutes into the third quarter.
Najwa Allen (29 touches) and Hannah Dunn (22 possessions) continued to work the ball forward, while Hollick and Rhiannon Busch started to influence the game with their trademark run and carry.
Inaccuracy in front of goals was the theme of the third term and Norwood headed into the final change with a 30-point lead.
The final term saw much of the same, as the Eagles held Norwood scoreless for a second quarter with their use of numbers behind the ball a ploy to stop Lady Legs scoring.
Norwood continued to still create chances despite finding it tough in the congestion.
The Legs held on to win by 34-points to leapfrog the Bays into top spot on the SANFLW Statewide ladder.
Round 5 action sees the Lady Legs take on West Adelaide at 1:15pm this Saturday at Coopers Stadium.
