NFC Wheelchair Match Report – Round 7 & 8

Disappointing results over the weekend for our Round seven and eight games against Sturt and then Centrals.

Friday night was always a big challenge against top-of-the-table Sturt. Late withdrawals and players out made the challenge even harder though we still gave all we could on the court.

Sturt was just too strong from the outset.

With beating Centrals last time we met by just one point, we knew this game was always going to be a tight contest. Central got out to an early lead in the first quarter, and we were chasing them down throughout the game. Heading into the final term 10 points down, we slowly got back to within 3 points, however, some late goals from Centrals gave them a two-goal lead and their maiden victory. Even though we had a loss, there were some great passages of play and ball movement that we need to bring into our next game.

It will be another tough game again this Friday night with the inform Eagles for Round nine to finish off the minor rounds, hoping to get our form and confidence back heading into the finals to secure third position for the season.
