NORWOOD has enjoyed a comfortable 43-point win against 2019 League debutants Centrals and Elizabeth on Saturday afternoon.
With several forced changes within the side, the Lady Legs came out with a clear plan to override the Dogs.
In what was a very contested first quarter it was Matilda Zander who registered Norwood’s only goal for the term after crumbing and snapping from 25 metres out.
Centrals replied through Abbey Scheer, which made for an interesting couple of quarters ahead.
Norwood started the second quarter well as Zander kicked her second for the match to give the Lady Legs a 16-point lead.
After missing out on Norwood’s Round Six match with the Bays Najwa Allen kicked her first as the Redlegs started to gain control of the match. The Lady Legs went into the main break up by 17-points.
Norwood’s ability to find the ball inside allowed them to start the third term with real control of the contest.
Erika Sporn kicked her first for the match from point blank range, before dominant Ruck woman Leah Cutting kicked her first goal of 2019.
Centrals, although down on the scoreboard tried to nullify Norwood’s game plan, however Hollick, Dunn and Allen still managed to find plenty of the ball.
In the last quarter Sporn and Allen both managed to kick their second goals of the contest to put the margin beyond doubt.
The Lady Legs running out comfortable winners by 43.
Najwa Allen was exceptional in her game back collecting 30 disposals and two goals while Hannah Dunn and Monique Hollick combined for 44 touches and provided plenty of run and carry to hurt Centrals going forward.
The Lady Legs will now face Sturt in Round Eight of the SANFL Statewide Women’s League on Saturday afternoon at 11:00am.
