NORWOOD has a whole host of new additions to its coaching panel for the 2022 SANFL Women’s season.
With the addition of the new Women’s Reserves competition in 2022, the Norwood Football Club has a rather extensive list of additions to its coaching structure.
Shane Lynch signs with the Redlegs after applying his trade at Happy Valley in 2021, coaching several grades through both Juniors and Seniors.
Lynch will oversee the forward line in 2022, as he looks to improve on Norwood’s already potent attack which finished second for scores for in 2021.
Brad Snell also joins the Norwood Football Club after signing as midfield coach for the 2022 Season.
Snell is a schoolteacher at Wilderness and has coached several teams throughout his teaching tenor. He brings experience to the role and takes over the midfield coached last year by Mat Creeper.
Creeper will again be supported by Brendan O’Donnell who will resume as bench coach, while Greg Dearman will continue as backline coach after a terrific first year in charge, which saw Norwood rated the number one defence in 2021.
Norwood has also appointed Simon Butler as its Coach of the Women’s Reserves.
Butler served as the Redlegs forward line Coach in 2021 and said he is delighted to be working alongside Mat Creeper to continue to develop players for the future.
“It’s great to be working under Mat Creeper’s guidance again, this time as Reserves Coach,” said Butler.
“To assist in the formation of our players, supported by Development Coaches – Dan Hussey, Kelly Rossi and Jericho John, is also really exciting.
“The players and coaches are certainly enjoying pre-season so far, particularly with the influx of many new faces training hard alongside our already established players.”
Creeper believes the coaching panel is experienced and has a diverse set of coaching skills.
“We’re thrilled to have Shane, Brad and all of our other Coaches on board with us for the upcoming season,” Creeper said.
“Shane brings a fair amount of experience and a broad range of skills throughout his time at Happy Valley, while Brad is highly regarded after teaching and coaching at a number of schools throughout South Australia.
“We also welcome Simon, Jericho, Dan and Kelly to our women’s program.
“With a wealth of experience across the coaching group, we’re well-positioned with dedicated staff not just amongst our coaching panel but also in high performance.
“After another strong season in 2021, we hope we can take our game to the next level this season and with the coaches we have, we are best positioned to achieve success.”
