The Norwood Football Club has named Bri Arthur as the coach of its first ever U18 Girls side, ahead of the inaugural 2026 SANFL U18 Girls competition.
The SANFL announced in July that an U18 Girls competition would replace the SANFLW Development League next season, to provide a more structured and sustainable pathway for emerging female talent.
A two-time SANFLW Premiership player with North Adelaide, Arthur, will coach the side, which will play a seven-round home and away season before a three-week finals series to conclude in April.
Arthur played 50 SANFLW matches with the Roosters from 2018 to 2024, including the 2020 and 2022 Premierships.
Throughout her playing career, Arthur commenced a coaching journey (in 2018), and has since gone on to coach within football programs at junior, senior, school, local, SANFL, academy and State level.
A school teacher, Arthur started coaching within the Concordia College school football program, before assisting female football programs at local level with Broadview and Glenunga Football Clubs.
She has spent the last six years coaching North Adelaide’s junior girls sides at U14, U15 and U17 level, and had experience working within the Adelaide Crows academy and State teams.
Crossing over to Norwood for the 2026 season, Arthur said she was excited by the challenge of leading a new team into a newly formed competition.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Norwood Football Club and coaching the U18 Girls in their inaugural year,” she said.
“It’s a super exciting group, so I am looking forward to helping them with their development and making sure they are ready for League football or wherever their football takes them.
“I have worked with ‘Rex’ (SANFLW coach Ben Hunt) through the SANFLW State Game in Perth a couple of seasons ago, so I am excited to work with him again at Norwood.”
