Norwood defeated North Adelaide by 41 points at Elizabeth’s X Convenience Oval on Saturday afternoon, bouncing back from its Round 3 loss to Central District.
The Redlegs were keen to respond after being outplayed by the top of the ladder Bulldogs last Sunday, and did so in powerful fashion in a 7.8-50 to 1.3-9 win over the winless Roosters.
Norwood kept North goalless until the third quarter, and ran away in the final term with 4.4 to no score to claim its third victory of the season.
Ella Anderson was again superb for Norwood, gathering 28 disposals, five clearances and three tackles, while Mia Wood also dominated through the midfield with 28 touches and five clearances.
Kaianne Colbung-Ware had 27 disposals, and Emmersen Lihou 23 and a goal.
Della McCracken, Lillian Thomas and Kailee Colbung-Ware each kicked two goals.
Norwood dominated the stats tally, amassing nearly 100-more disposals, whilst losing the tackle count by only one. The Redlegs had +17 marks, +16 clearances and +16 inside 50m in a strong Round 4 performance.
Given Norwood’s domination throughout the contest, the Roosters did well to restrict the margin to 12 points at half time, and 13 points at the final break, before the Redlegs took full control in the fourth term.
Saturday’s win elevated Norwood to third on the ladder, and take on the fourth placed Sturt on Sunday at Richmond Oval in Round 5.
