Norwood farewells the Carroll brothers

The Norwood Football Club would like to thank Brodie and Mitch Carroll, who will be departing the club this off-season.

Mitch concludes his time with Norwood after 20 matches across three seasons, after debuting in 2022 where he went on to play in the 2022 SANFL Premiership in just his fifth SANFL match.

Norwood Coach Jade Rawlings thanked Mitch for his contribution to the club.

“Mitch is one of the hardest workers at the club,” Rawlings said.

“He continued to improve his footy across his time at the club.

“He needed a fair bit of growth in his game when he first started as a senior player in 2021, but he continued to improve, whilst dealing with injury setbacks at unfortunate times.

“I am sad to see him go as he’s a popular player and a key cultural figure at our club.”

Brodie finished with 44 League matches across six seasons at Norwood, having to deal with concussion and injury setbacks throughout.

“Brodie’s one of the most resilient players that I have ever coached,” Rawlings said.

“He cares about the club, cares about others, and he continually bounced back whenever a setback was in front of him.

“Brodie kept improving his footy right up until his final match, Grand Final day. He played a really good game in the Grand Final, and despite the result we were really pleased with his performance.

“Brodie goes onto a different phase of his life, which we have known about for a while, but it’s sad to see him go.”

The club thanks Mitch and Brodie for their contribution to the senior program, and wishes them all the best for the future.
