Norwood FC’s 2025 First Nations Round Guernsey

The Norwood Football Club will be wearing a First Nations Round guernsey inspired by the club’s Regional Zone of the Eyre Peninsula.

Norwood will don the guernsey across the next two weekends in SANFL and SANFL Women’s matches against Central District and West Adelaide, being Rounds 7 and 8 of the SANFL season, and Rounds 9 and 10 of the SANFLW season.

The Redlegs will kick off the SANFL’s First Nations Round on Friday night at Cooper Stadium, taking on the second placed Bulldogs.

The SANFL match will commence from 7:40pm (Reserves 5pm) on Friday, May 23 at The Parade, before Norwood’s Senior Women’s side will also host the Bulldogs on Saturday, May 24 at Coopers Stadium from 11:50am.

Then the Redlegs face West Adelaide in a triple header at Richmond Oval on Saturday, May 31 – Reserves 10:30am, SANFL 1:10pm, SANFLW 4pm.

The Guernsey

This year’s guernsey design has been inspired by the club’s Regional Zone of the Eyre Peninsula.

The process commenced in November last year, when the club hosted a football trip for 22 junior players from the Ceduna region on the Eyre Peninsula to visit Norwood.

The trip included a football match on Norwood Oval between the travelling players and Norwood’s U13 Metro Zone players for the “IWS Cup”, as well as an excursion to the Port Adelaide Football Club, the South Australian Museum, Marion, Rostrevor College and IWS’s Wingfield Processing Facility.

One of the trip’s activities included designing Norwood’s next First Nations Round guernsey, which the players took very seriously. Watch the video below to see the designs the players submitted.

From there, the club supplied the designs to Norwood apparel partner Belgravia, who came up with the final design.

The club thanks the Ceduna Youth Hub for their assistance in organising the trip, Belgravia and also club Platinum Partners IWS for supporting the initiative.
