Norwood will take on Woodville-West Torrens in this Friday’s 2024 SANFL Wheelchair League Grand Final.
The Grand Final will commence from 7:30pm at The Lights Community and Sports Centre in Lightsview.
The Redlegs finished second after the regular season with a 4-5 record, finishing ahead of the third placed Sturt and fourth placed Central District.
Their Grand Final opponents are the minor premier Eagles, who have gone through the nine-game season undefeated.
The Redlegs took on the Eagles in Friday night’s Round 9 clash to close out the home and away season, with the minor premiers claiming a 12.4-76 to 7.5-47 win in an early Grand Final match up.
Norwood stuck with the Eagles during the first half, trailing 6.3-39 to 2.1-13 at half time, before Woodville-West Torrens put on five goals to one in the third term.
Trailing by 47 points at the final break, Norwood had the better of the last quarter with four goals to one to give itself some confidence going into Friday’s decider.
It was Norwood’s best result against the superior Eagles line-up, with Woodville-West Torrens running out 72-point, 56-point and 29-point winners throughout the three meetings.
