Norwood signs father-daughter Abby Klaebe to SANFLW Program

The Norwood Football Club is excited to announce the signing of Abby Klaebe to its Senior Women’s program.

After several impressive seasons at local level for Women’s Division 1 Adelaide Footy League club Payneham NU, Klaebe said she was ready to take the next step with the Redlegs.

“Playing for Norwood has been a goal of mine for a while now, so I’m excited and very keen to get stuck into it,” she said.

“I think the timing was right, I had a great time with Payneham and we had a great couple of seasons as a team, but I’m ready to take it to the next level.”

The daughter of Brenton Klaebe – who played 61 League matches for the Redlegs – Abby had a massive 2024 season, winning the Division 1 League Medal (Dutschke Medal), as well as the goal kicking award with 25 goals from 14 games.

Klaebe had another strong season in 2025, with eight best player nods from 16 games.

“It’s exiting and it will be good to play in front of Dad at The Parade,” she said.

“It’s a bit surreal, growing up watching footy at Norwood and to now pull on the guernsey is something I’m looking forward to.”

Klaebe rounds out a trio of signings to the Redlegs Senior Women’s program, with Amy Gaedtke from Central District and Ashley Baker from Woodville-West Torrens also heading to The Parade for the 2026 season.
