The first quarter was played predominantly in the Redlegs front half, with Norwood leading the inside-50 count at quarter time.
Early goals to Tom Wagner and Cole Gerloff saw the visitors get off to the perfect start, however as the quarter played out the Bloods started to gather some momentum kicking two of their own before the first break.
The second quarter was an arm wrestle, with both sides struggling to gain the ascendency, however, it was the Bloods who added two more majors at either side of the quarter to open a 14-point lead at halftime.
Spearhead Jackson Callow finally broke a five-goal West Adelaide run with a vital goal from a well delivered Zac Richards kick inside 50.
But West Adelaide continued to make the most of their opportunities, with Stuart Taverner, Jonathon Beech and Thomas Keough soon following with consecutive goals to give the Bloods a game-high 26-point lead at three quarter time.
Defender turned forward Cameron Shenton gave Norwood the perfect start in the final term kicking truly from 15 metres out, however, the Redlegs were not able to gain a run on, with West Adelaide defending strongly for the majority of the quarter.
Beech goaled again towards the end of the quarter before Mitch Grigg kicked one of his own.
