Norwood’s U14 season gets underway

Norwood’s U14 Boys Season gets underway this afternoon at Hisense Stadium.

The Redlegs take on Glenelg in Richmond on Saturday, March 1 at 4:10pm.

The game against the Tigers kicks off a seven-game SANFL U14 season, which is focussed on development and giving the players a chance to integrate within the club before going into an U16 program.

“The club is really excited for many of these young men to experience wearing the red and blue in a SANFL competition for the first time,” Norwood Talent Manager Craig Roberts said.

“Our club is a little unique as we only play a Metro side against opposition that many are full strength from their country and Metro regions.

“As our country region is the EP this makes it very difficult with the travel, so with the work of the NAFC we both play a full country game in Pt Pirie in Round 5 on the back of our U16 & U18 fixtures. This will allow us to look at 50 players from our region.”

Norwood’s U14 side will be coached by Norwood SANFL Premiership midfielder and current senior listed player Declan Hamilton.

The Boys and their families enjoyed a Season Launch during the week, where the players received their Norwood guernsey for the first time.
