Don Olds made his league debut in round 15, of 1953. He was promoted straight from the Colts. Ironically, the 18 year-old took the place vacated by his injured older brother Doug Olds (Norwood’s champion wingman, 214 games 1944-1957) who had required a knee operation to have a cartilage removed. Don played five games in his debut season.
