Past Player of the Week – Geoff McMillan

Geoff McMillan joined Norwood in 1980, following the newly appointed Norwood coach and ex-Richmond team-mate Neil Balme, to The Parade.

Originally from Nandaly, a town in the Mallee region of Victoria, McMillan was a strongly built footballer capable of playing at either end of the ground. He had played both as a key forward and a key defender with Richmond in the 1977-78 VFL reserves competition. After kicking 14 goals in two weeks at full forward, McMillan was promoted to the league team and named as a half-forward flanker. His debut was against North Melbourne in Round 13, 1978.
