Bob Skinner came to Norwood via Prince Alfred Old Collegians in the Amateur League. At 198cm and a State high-jumper, he was a valuable member of Norwood’s ruck brigade, despite playing in an era where the club was blessed with many big-name ruckmen, such as Peter Dalwood, Graham Nicholls, John Marriott, Bill Wedding, Pat Hall and Norm Walker.
He was selected in the State training squad in his first season and played for the State second 18 against Broken Hill in 1955.
