Trevor Grantham was born on 8 January 1943 and played for the Central Augusta Football Club in the Great Northern Football Association before joining Norwood in 1961. He made his senior debut for Norwood in the 1961 Advertiser Cup, pre-season night competition. He was named at centre half forward and Norwood lost to Sturt by a goal.
Grantham played five league games in his first season at The Parade, but spent most of the year in the reserves. He was selected at centre half forward in the reserves Grand Final against West Torrens on the Adelaide Oval. The Redlegs won the decider, and Grantham was named second best for Norwood.
