PhysioXtra Norwood – Injury Update

Norwood Football Club General Manager of Football Richard Kelly would like to make the following update on injuries.

The club has been hit with injuries throughout the 2025 campaign, which has been a real test for our Senior Men’s squad across the first two months of the season.

As the season has gone on, the injury list has reduced from 20+ in Round 1 to now 12 remaining.

Unfortunately our captain Jacob Kennerley did his calf during the Round 7 game against Centrals, and will miss this weekend’s match against Westies. He should be fit for return in Round 9 against the Double Blues on King’s Birthday.

Ben Simpson has had an ongoing foot injury which has kept him out all season, but is nearing a return.

Tom McCallum hurt his knee against Glenelg in Round 4, but thankfully avoided an ACL tear. It’s unlikely that Tom will return in 2025, which is unfortunate as he fitted into the program beautifully since crossing over from Port Adelaide.

Liam Robinson will have surgery on his foot this week, which rules him out for the remainder of the season. Surgery now will ensure he is ready to go for pre-season and a big year in 2026.

It was a devastating blow for the Senior Women’s squad on Saturday as Shai Hiscock went down with a knee injury.

Scans have confirmed an ACL tear and she will miss the remainder of the season.

The Women’s squad has had a rough run with injury in 2025, missing Tahlita Buethke with a leg injury, co-captain Steph Simmonds with a hamstring, and Emily Bartsch with a shoulder.

Ailene Hiebner did her ACL in Round 1 of the SANFLW Development League season, while Laura Wilson has made it three ACL’s for the SANFLW program, recently injuring her knee at local level.

Emma Clark has concussion, and has entered the 14-day concussion protocol.
