Norwood’s hopes of an outside shot of making finals potentially rest on this Round 14 match against Woodville-West Torrens, which will be held at Coopers Stadium on Saturday.
The Redlegs lost their first five matches of the 2025 campaign, before turning their season around to win four of their last eight to sit sixth after Round 13.
Norwood remain two wins outside of the top five, but a win over the fifth placed Eagles this Saturday brings that margin back to one victory with a month to play, in what will be a true four-point swing on the SANFL ladder.
The Redlegs will be without key forward Jackson Callow, who was on Tuesday suspended for three matches (final suspension to be determined at a follow up hearing tonight), following a heavy hit on Central District player Oliver Shaw in Round 13.
Norwood lost to the Bulldogs by 19 points at Elizabeth Oval last Saturday.
The Eagles have their own worries with injury and form, having lost their last four matches, but there is a lot on the line this Saturday with both sides keen to snag the last remaining finals spot up for grabs.
Sturt and Glenelg have already locked in post-season action, while Adelaide and the Bulldogs have effectively done the same. Meaning the Eagles are the only vulnerable side that sits in the current top five with a 6-7 record.
The Redlegs, Magpies and Roosters all have four wins to their name, but all remain in the hunt.
Norwood has named a squad of 25, with potential debutants Max Hodges and Tyson Walls named, along with Liam Ling and Ben Simpson on the extended bench.
In the Reserves, Norwood has selected SA U18 Representatives, Noah Daw, Balyn O’Brien, Jim Kelly and Sam Ainsworth, while Ethan Warburton returns from injury.
