Norwood will face West Adelaide in the Teakle Cup at Port Lincoln’s Centenary Oval on Saturday.
This is the second consecutive year the Redlegs will play the Bloods on the Eyre Peninsula, which has been Norwood’s recruiting zone since 2015.
Norwood coach Jade Rawlings said this was an important game for his club.
“It’s enormous playing in our zone, there is a lot of organisation that goes into it,” he said.
“The club did a great job with it last year, it was a really positive weekend for us, and this is again another great opportunity – playing in the EP means a lot to our club.
“The situation we are in is far from ideal, having not won a game for five weeks but no-one is giving up on this group – it is about learning how to maximise on the learnings from each game.”
Norwood won last year’s Teakle Cup over West Adelaide 19.13-127 to 9.5-59, and will this Saturday be hoping to get a win on the board for the first time in 2023 following a 0-5 start to the season.
Norwood will be without co-captain and Eyre Peninsula junior Jacob Kennerley (quad injury) for the clash, while Connor McLean also comes out of the side – he will line up in the Reserves on Friday evening.
Coming into the team is Lachie Pascoe, Sam Morris, Liam Robinson, Isaac Saywell and Luke Bogle in what is an extended team of 25 players.
Eyre Peninsula juniors Cameron Taheny and Ben Jarvis will be playing in their home region.
