SANFL Teams Round 11

Norwood will look to claim back-to-back wins for the first time this season in a huge clash against reigning premiers Glenelg at Coopers Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The club will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1975 SANFL premiership against the Tigers with a massive triple-header across the women’s league and men’s reserves and senior sides.

There will be an on-ground presentation of the 1975 premiership team before the league match to reminisce on one of the greatest eras in Norwood’s proud history.

The action on the field will get underway with the women’s league taking on Glenelg at 9:20am in a must-win clash to keep their finals hopes alive.

The men’s reserves clash kicks off at 11:20am, before the league side faces the Bays at 2:10pm.

Norwood will go into the game unchanged for the second consecutive week, with the side starting to find continuity after an injury-hit start to the year.

Jayden Gale, Jack Saunders and Max Hodges have been named on the extended bench.

The Redlegs come into this clash on the back of a clinical 52-point victory over South Adelaide last weekend, continuing a strong run of form in recent weeks.

Glenelg suffered their its loss of the season last week against ladder-leading Sturt, which broke a four-game winning streak.

The Bays currently sit second on the ladder with a 7-3 record, with their percentage of 60.5% the best in the competition.

These sides last met in the Anzac Day grand final rematch in Round 4, which Glenelg won by 43 points, with a dominant last quarter display masking just how close the contest was for most of the day.

Norwood have regained quality players in Baynen Lowe, Tom Donnelly, Alec Wright and Luke Surman since that clash, who have all found their best form after returning from injury.
