Norwood will be looking for its 10th win of the SANFL season when it takes on West Adelaide at Richmond’s Hisense Stadium on Sunday.
The Redlegs have responded well following back to back losses in Rounds 8 and 9, to secure consecutive wins in Rounds 11 and 12 against Port Adelaide and South Adelaide.
Norwood coach Jade Rawlings suggested last Sunday’s win over the Panthers at Noarlunga was “one of the best wins of the season”, given the way his Redlegs side overcame a tough opponent, in challenging conditions away from home.
Norwood led 4.14-38 to 4.7-31 at three quarter time, before kicking the last five goals of the game to run out 39-point winners.
It was an important win as the ladder takes shape after Round 12, with Norwood remaining on top of the SANFL Ladder with a 9-2 win-loss record.
Sturt, Central District and Glenelg are a game back on 8-3.
Matthew Ling will return to the League side for this Sunday’s match, having served his three-match suspension.
Ben Simpson will return from a hip injury that made him miss the Round 12 clash against the Panthers, while Oliver Sanders and George McLeod have also been named in an extended squad.
If selected, McLeod will be making his League debut.
Jayden Gale is out due to work commitments.
Captain Jacob Kennerley will miss another week with a groin injury.
Sanders has played the last two weeks in the Reserves, returning from an ankle injury that’s kept him sidelined all season. Last weekend, he collected 33 disposals and six clearances against South Adelaide.
Patrick Walker will make a long-awaited return from an ankle injury through the Reserves on Sunday, while U18 forward Jay Polkinghorne will have his first experience at Senior Football, also named in the Reserves off the back of a four-goal game in the U18s last week.
