Norwood will be looking to bounce back from its first loss of the 2024 season when it heads to Unley Oval on Monday to take on Sturt in a huge King’s Birthday clash.
The Redlegs remain on top of the SANFL ladder after eight matches with a 7-1 record, and take on the fourth placed Double Blues who are 5-3.
After a start where they went loss-win-loss-win-loss, the Double Blues have strung together three consecutive victories against Port Adelaide, Adelaide and Central District, and will be a tough prospect for Norwood on their home deck.
The Redlegs have named am extended squad for the Monday match, with Zach Morris, Alec Wright, Isaac Saywell, Jayden Gale, Mitch Carroll, Tristan Binder and Liam Robinson named on the extended bench.
Robinson leads the Reserves League goal kicking with 25 goals, while Binder has enjoyed a consistent season with 13.
Matthew Ling is out with suspension.
Following an unbeaten first seven weeks, Norwood was outclassed by Woodville-West Torrens last Sunday, with the second-placed Eagles running away with a 39-point win.
Norwood defeated Sturt in Round 1 by 27 points, and enjoyed a victory over the Double Blues at Unley Oval last season, 3.12-30 to 9.5-59 in wet conditions.
Norwood’s Reserves take on the Double Blues in a top of the table clash, with the Redlegs going in 8-0 against Sturt’s 6-2 record.
For the third straight week, Norwood will play a Triple Header, with the Reserves playing from 9:50am, SANFLW at 12:20pm and SANFL at 2:30pm at Unley Oval.
