SANFL Wheelchair Football – Round 4 match report

Norwood sustained a 14-point loss against a physical Central District side in Round 4 of the SANFL Wheelchair Football League on Friday night.

It was a fiery contest that proved to be an arm wrestle throughout, as the Redlegs took the fight to the second-placed Bulldogs before they ran away with the game in the fourth quarter.

The Redlegs welcomed back player coach David Gould and defender Richard Davis which provided a significant boost, matching it with the Bulldogs at the stoppages and playing the style of football they have been wanting to execute all year.

Wayne McNamara offered a big presence up forward, continuing his strong season as Norwood’s leading goal scorer (11) with four goals.

The Redlegs finished the game with more scoring shots than the Bulldogs, and it could have easily been a different result had a little more luck gone their way.

Whilst Norwood remain winless this season, it was a strong performance that leaves an optimistic outlook for the remaining games, as the Redlegs continue to chase their first victory of 2023.
