The Norwood Football Club would like to inform its members and supporters that Brad Snell has stepped down as the club’s Head Women’s Coach.
Brad has done a fantastic job this season, very quickly creating an environment that enabled our women to learn, grow, improve and enjoy their football.
He leaves the women’s program in a very good position and the club will now start the process of finding a replacement to build on this.
We wish Brad all the very best as he dedicates more time to his family and work.
“I would like to congratulate and thank Brad for his efforts this season,” Norwood FC CEO James Fantasia said.
“Obviously we are disappointed to lose Brad, but we want to thank him for his uncompromising commitment and delivery to the team and our cluub.
“We would like to wish him every success for the future.”
Brad stepped into the Head Coaching role for the 2023 Season, having been an assistant coach in previous seasons.
Brad did a great job of gaining the respect of the entire Women’s playing group with the SANFLW side making a Preliminary Final and the Development League team a Grand Final.
The SANFLW side missed out on finals in 2022 (finishing fifth), but improved in 2023 to finish third with a 7-5 record, despite starting the season 0-3.
Norwood SANFLW Captain Alison Ferrall said Brad was a much loved Coach.
“This season was a success,” she said.
“We had such a young list with so many new players, and with Snell coming in he built this awesome coaching group that worked so well together.
“He built such a strong, safe, positive environment for us to go about our business and play our best footy.
“I am confident that we will be able to keep growing and hopefully go all the way next year.”
