SANFLW Report – Panthers break Legs undefeated streak

SOUTH ADELAIDE has handed Norwood its first loss since Round One after recording a six-point win at The Parade on Saturday morning.

The Redlegs had themselves to blame early as they were not able to capitalise on the opportunities created throughout the early going.

This came back to haunt Norwood as South the first two majors of the clash in the second term as they led by 10-points at the main break.

The Panthers had their third in just under five minutes of the third term starting before Norwood kicked their first major of the game through defender turned forward, Erika Sporn.

The Redlegs had two more opportunities late in the third to gain some scoreboard pressure on South, however, were in accurate making it a hard task to come back from in the final quarter.

Lauren Buchanan made it all but tougher for Norwood in the third minute of the final term when she kicked truly, before Rosetta Zerella kicked one of her own to help the Norwood resurgence.

The Legs fought till the end, however, were not able to finish how they would have liked falling short by six-points.

SANFLW best-and-fairest winner Najwa Allen had 18 disposals in her return for Norwood as team-mate Morgan Johnston registered 16.
