SANFLW Teams: Round 5

Norwood heads to Unley’s Thomas Farms Oval for a massive Good Friday SANFLW clash with Sturt. 

It’s not been an ideal start to the 2025 season for last year’s grand finalists, as the Redlegs have won just one of their first four matches against South Adelaide, West Adelaide, North Adelaide and Woodville-West Torrens.

The Eagles, Panthers, Roosters and Bloods currently sit in the top four, so its been a tricky start for the Redlegs, and this Friday certainly won’t be a walk in the park as they take on the fifth placed Double Blues on their home deck.

Norwood will need to improve its midfield and clearance work, having been beaten in inside 50m entries in every match thus far, and also haven’t been able to put a large score on the board as yet.

The Redlegs welcome back Georgie Jaques and Mykaela Walker who have missed the last few matches through injury, while Georgina Birchall and Charli Hazelhurst are out.

Its a massive week for the Development League as well, who now have a must win match against Sturt in Round 7.

After starting the season strongly with four straight wins, the Redlegs have lost their last two matches and it now appears unlikely that they will qualify for the Grand Final next week.
