Senior Teams Return to Training in 2025

Norwood’s Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s squads will return to training on Monday, January 13, resuming pre-season for 2025.

The Senior Men’s squad will train from 5:30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays at various locations throughout the pre-season, with Monday and Thursday sessions to be held at Coopers Stadium.

Thursday will be an Open Training Session and Supporters Night at Coopers Stadium, with the club’s Premiers Bar to open every Thursday from 4:30pm onwards (starting January 16) for Bistro Meals.

The Senior Women’s squad pre-season training will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with the Wednesday session held at Norwood.

In an injury update, Baynen Lowe has had surgery on his shoulder that he re-injured while training at Fremantle over the pre-season. Surgery went well, but he is expected to have a three-to-four-month recovery.

Jack Saunders and Mitch O’Neill were on light duties prior to Christmas due to ankle injuries, but are back to full training when it resumes on Monday.

Off-season recruit Tom McCallum (shoulder), Oliver Sanders (ankle) and Connor McLean (groin) will soon return to full training.

Finn Heard (elbow), Cory Stockdale (knee), Ethan Warburton (shoulder), Matt Ling (toe), Dom White (shoulder) and Liam Robinson (ankle) are all recovering well from longer term injuries and it’s expected they’ll be ready for Round 1.

The playing list has continued to take shape over the Christmas period, with former North Adelaide Rooster Jack Hodges and GWS Academy player Daniel Gaucci committing to the club, along with Tom McCallum (Port Adelaide AFL), Will Rowlands (Gold Coast AFL) and Charlie Molan (Sturt).

Tasmania has been a successful recruiting region for the club in recent years, and Norwood has recently signed Jack Aherne, Connor Ling, Liam Ling, Mitchell Nicholas and Khalen Matthews for the 2025 season.

There’s also been a number of last year’s top-age U18s training with the Senior squad this pre-season, including Jacob Newton and Jack Michalanney. Norwood also has five 2025 State U18 Academy players in Noah Daw, Jim Kelly, Fergus Myall, Bayln O’Brien and Will Prescott who will train with both the Senior and U18 Redlegs squads throughout the pre-season.

Norwood has three Trail Matches coming up, including a game in Tasmania on March 2.
