Seymour signs with The Legs

NORWOOD is excited to announce the signing of former Eagles defender, Pierce Seymour ahead of the 2022 SANFL Season.

The 26-year-old joins Norwood after notching up 33 League games across both Woodville West-Torrens and the Adelaide Crows.

At 190cm, Pierce can play on talls or smalls and is a great user of the football with a damaging left foot which will provide plenty of drive from the back half.

He played 10 games for the Premiers in 2021, where he averaged 12.6 disposals and 4.8 marks per match.

Norwood Football Services Manager, Rob Harding was pleased to gain the signature of Seymour to bolster the Redlegs defence.

“We’re really delighted to have Pierce join our football club,” said Harding.

“He’s obviously been at a strong club like the Eagles and before that played as a top-up player at the Crows in 2019.

“We think there is a great opportunity for Pierce as a half back with his great ball use and ability to read the play and intercept to join our back group and really provide us another weapon coming out of defence.”

Having tasted League football at the Crows in 2019 and the Eagles in 2020 and 2021, Seymour is looking to establish himself as a regular in the Redlegs best 22.

“In the last couple of years, I have played 25 out of the 35 games available and it just hasn’t ended my way towards the end of the season,” said Seymour.

“I think going to a fresh environment and a new challenge will allow me the opportunity to play a bit more League football.

“I’ve really enjoyed the chats I have had with Twig (Jade Rawlings) over the last couple of weeks and how he can make me a better player.

“I think Norwood is the best fit for me and can’t wait to hit the ground running with an emerging team in 2022.”
