Simmo’s 4X4X4 Challenge, supporting the Ashleigh Young Scholarship

Norwood’s SANFLW Captain Steph Simmonds is taking on the Goggins 4x4x4 Challenge, in memory of Ashleigh Young.

Starting this Friday, January 16, Simmonds is running 4 miles (6.4km) every 4 hours for 48 hours (totalling 78km) to raise $4000 for the Ashleigh Young Scholarship at the Marjorie Jackson-Nelson Centre for Women’s Sport.

Ashleigh was a much loved figure at the Norwood Football Club, going above and beyond to support female football at the club and across the SANFL.

She was the club’s Female Football Coordinator for several seasons, before her life was tragically cut short due to complications with her asthma in December, 2023 at the age of just 31.

Her memory and legacy lives on at the Norwood Football Club.

Simmonds’ run kicks off at 6pm on Friday, at the Norwood Football Club.
