Thank you Rick Shrowder – NFC farewells Footy Ops Manager

Norwood Football Club Football Operations Manager Rick Shrowder has concluded his time at the club after seven years.

Rick held a number of roles since starting at Norwood in 2017, including Talent Manager, People, Culture and Pathways Manager, and most recently Football Operations Manager.

Rick said he’d greatly enjoyed his time at Norwood.

“It’s been a great privilege to have been a part of the Norwood family for the last seven years,” he said.

“To have experienced euphoric highs and soul searching lows, and been part of the team that has navigated the club through some of the most challenging of times is extremely special.

“The standards set by those before me, and the expectations of those in the present demand on-and-off-field success, and I hope that I have managed to uphold those standards and set some new ones in my own way.

“I’ll forever be grateful to the club and the SANFL for the opportunities I’ve been given to grow, learn and contribute to Australian Football in this state.

“I wish all the staff, players and supporters of this fantastic club success in all programs this year and into the future and I look forward to sharing in that from the sidelines.”

Rick was the Talent Manager overseeing the under-age program when the U18s won the 2020 Premiership, and People, Culture and Pathways Manager when the League side won the 2022 SANFL Premiership.

Rick also helped steer the club through the Covid-19 Pandemic, and last season was vital in navigating the club and it’s people through the grief of losing Nick Lowden and Ashleigh Young.

His outstanding people and management skills will be missed by those at the club.

Norwood CEO James Fantasia said the club was sad to lose a fantastic member of staff, but wished Rick all the best for his future.

“Rick has been an integral part of our administration team for the past seven years,” he said.

“His contribution has been outstanding, and we wish him every success for his future endeavours.”

Rick has recently commenced a role as Executive Officer of Diving SA, while also carrying out multiple other projects in the youth sport and education space.

The club is currently advertising the role of General Manager Football. If you are interested in joining our team, please view via the link below.
