Thank You, Sophie Armitstead

The Norwood Football Club would like to thank Sophie Armitstead for her amazing contribution to Norwood across the last seven seasons, with 2025 being her final one at The Parade.

A captain and two time club Best and Fairest winner, Armitstead has been a brilliant player in red and blue across 66 SANFLW matches.

Originally from the Northern Territory, Armitstead was Drafted to the Adelaide Crows in 2017, spending two seasons at West Lakes in the AFLW program.

She played four AFLW matches for the Crows.

In 2018 she was delisted, and joined West Adelaide, where she played four matches for the Bloods, before heading to Norwood.

70 SANFLW matches in total (four for Westies), Armitstead’s contribution to the League has been outstanding. She has co-captained Norwood across the last two seasons, and won two Best and Fairest Awards in 2020 and 2021 at the Redlegs.
