Tough night for the Redlegs junior Boys

Norwood struggled against Central District in the two AAMI Talent League Boys matches at X Convenience Oval on Saturday night.

The Redlegs U18 and U16 Boys had the rare opportunity to play following the SANFL Men’s match, but it was the Bulldogs who proved too strong in both grades.

In the first game, Centrals ran out 68-point winners in the U16 Boys game, as the Bulldogs booted the first five goals of the match to have the result all-but sown up at half time.

After half time it was another five goals to two, but Norwood was lucky the Bulldogs couldn’t convert in front of goal in the 10.23-83 to 2.3-15 result.

Following the U16s was the U18s game between Norwood and Centrals, which was a far closer encounter.

The Bulldogs looked to have the game under control for most of the contest, leading by 23 points late in the third term.

Norwood kicked three quick goals through Seb Zealand, Masen Jones and Cooper Burrows to get it back to a three-point game at the final break.

The Bulldogs steadied and kicked the only three goals of the final term to run out 19-point winners.
